Houston Roughnecks WAIVED OT Toby Weathersby
Standing 6-6 and weighing nearly 310lbs, Weathersby was a monolith in the Bayou where he played offensive tackle for the LSU Tigers. After playing in thirty one games over three years, he decided to forfeit his senior eligibility and enter the NFL Draft in 2018, where his professional aspirations fell flat. He was not drafted, although he did sign with the Philadelphia Eagles as a free agent. He was placed on I/R before the 2018 NFL Season began and ultimately left the team and was signed onto the New England Patriots’ practice squad.
Unable to gain exposure in the NFL, he took his talents to the AAF’s Memphis Express until the league folded after the eighth week of its inaugural season in 2019. Weathersby was signed by the DC Defenders in the 2020 XFL Draft and was subsequently added to the Houston Roughnecks’ active roster on January 5, 2020
